Science & History Behind Jio Services

Short History Of Jio

It starts from here. In 2005, when Reliance split between Dhirubhai Ambani’s sons – Anil Ambani & Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani got telecom, power, entertainment and financial services business while Mukesh Ambani received Reliance Industries and IPCL. Jio.

In 2010, as soon as the non-compete agreement between both brothers was scrapped/expired, Mukesh Ambani purchased 96% stake in Infotel Broadband which had acquired 4G spectrum in all sectors in India. And from here it started. Period.

What actually made/makes Jio different from other telecoms?

The answer is Optical fiber network. Yes, an optical fiber is much better in transferring data comparing to other methods.

They have the longest fiber-optic network in the country, ranging over 2.5 lakh kilometers.

Jio is the first Indian company who launched VoLTE service.

Now first of all what is VoLTE?

VoLTE stands for voice over Long Term Evolution. Utilizing IMS technology, it is a digital packet voice service that is delivered over IP via an LTE access network, It’s voice calls over a 4G LTE network.

Now, Science behind VoLTE free calls.

In simple words, VoLTE calls are done using your data pack. Briefly, we can explain as Jio is already providing high-speed 4g data at very low price, it’s obvious customer making normal (not VoLTE) phone calls would look to reduce their expenses on a normal phone call by using WhatsApp calling, Skype etc to make calls via the internet using their 4g data. Now it makes almost no sense to offer normal service to users otherwise they’ll end up using some mediator app to make phone calls.

Addition to all this, VoLTE has following major benefits over LTE:

  • Voice quality is better in VoLTE.
  • You can keep data connection on while making a voice call.
  • VoLTE can connect calls faster
  • 4G VoLTE works on higher frequencies like 800 MHz and thus it can make connections much farther away from the mobile phone tower.pd

Things are not over here, Jio is planning about DTH service and Broadband. Jio has already developed a lot so, deploying new ideas will be easy for them
